The video comes just two days after the couple celebrated Stormi’s first birthday on Friday.
“ITS MY QUEEN, MY HEART, MY AIR , MY EVERYTHING. STORMI’S BIRTHDAY TODAY. I LOVE U SO MUCH BABY,” the rapper wrote in an Instagram tribute, tacking his heartfelt messageon to a gallery of photosand clips showing Stormi smiling while posing in a pig-themed room, playing with her dad, hugging a stuffed shark and more.
Scott’s decision to perform at the football extravaganza was initially met with criticism given theNFL’s negative responseto its playerstaking a knee during the National Anthemas a way to protest police brutality against people of color.
In fact, more than 85,000 people signed aChange.org petitionasking Maroon 5 — and others — to back out of the event to supportColin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback who started the movement.
In mid-January, however, Scott said he’d perform if the NFL agreed to one condition. He asked the organization to join him in making a donation to a charitable cause. In partnership with the league, Scott will contribute $500,000 toDream Corps, a non-profit organization that champions social justice.
“I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in,” Scott saidin a statement to PEOPLE at the time. “I know being an artist that it’s in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation. I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change.”
