Obviously , while some were thrilled to learn about these fabulous furry beasts , others are not so sharp .
As ever with a viral exposure , there are a few thing to discharge up . First up , they are not " human - sized " unless you are being very generous with your measurements by referring to " human " when you in reality mean " modest child " .

These beasties have a wingspread of up to 1.5 meter ( 4.9 feet ) with an impressive 27 to 32 centimeter ( 11 - 13 inCH ) top dog - body length .
Both species of megabats are reassuringly vegetarian ( for any of you worried out there ) , with the Golden - top fly slyboots preferring figs and the turgid vaporize fox feast on fruits , ambrosia , and bloom .
In fact , they are unreasonably endearing .
