Ahead of the2024 Screen Actors Guild Awardson Saturday, the actor, 47, told PEOPLE on the red carpet about one thing actual news producers have told him the show has gotten right about the high pressure job.
“To me, the thing that we got the most correct is the stress eating,” he says. “The producers, they will tell you, if you look closely inThe Morning Show, like I’ve got, little mustard stains on my sleeves like little ketchup on the lapel. It’s just … you only have two minutes to eat, and you have to wolf it down.”
He adds, “And that’s your only chance for any sort of emotional calm, is carbs. That’s what I’ve been told. They’re like, ‘You guys got the stress eating down.’ In this way,The Morning Showis true to life.”
Duplass, who has been open aboutnavigating anxiety and depression, told PEOPLE on the red carpet about why he’s not afraid to talk about his mental health journey publicly.
“I didn’t think it was going to be a big deal. I thought we were at the point where like, people talk about this and it’s demystified,” the actor said.
