Jennifer Lawrenceis taking a stance against corruption in American democracy.
“We are witnessing a total, political system failure in America,” the actress began.
She added, “And I know it’s hard to talk about politics these days but look, the government is ours, we pay for it, so it needs to work for us and right now it doesn’t. And I mean itreallydoesn’t.”
Lawrence went on to break down the ways in which the political system no longer works for the average American citizen and exactly how to fix what she calls a “political breakdown.”

In October 2017, theRed Sparrowactress partnered with director David O. Russell andTeen Wolf’s Max Carver to tackle anti-corruption in a video for RepresentUs.
She went on tosurprise students in their high school classroomsin January 2018 to speak about the subject and encourage them to take more interest in politics.
Lawrence has previously taken a foot forward in politics, delving into the dramatic wayshe had envisioned confronting President Donald Trumpin a sit-down interview withOprah WinfreyforThe Hollywood Reporterin December 2017.
“I’ve got a pretty good speech. And it ends with a martini to the fact,” she said with a laugh.
When Winfrey asked if the star would be prepared if the conversation did take place, Lawrence said, “Oh, I would, definitely. Oh, my God, I’ve been waiting for this moment. I’ll give you a hint — it’s not nice. You wouldn’t want me to say it to you.”

She added she also had a few choice words for other unnamed politicians who upset her.
“I have something to say for all of them,” Lawrence said. “I watch different characters on the news, and I’m like, ‘Just you wait.’”
The Oscar winner admitted politics had become something she was fixated on in the recent months.
“My political passion has almost turned into an obsession. I mean, I don’t think you ever do feel settles, [but] as soon as you feel settled with your home and your personal life, you’re looking at the world and going, ‘How in the hell do I fix this? What do we do?’”
