We ’ve beenexcited for Jon Bernthalto take on the theatrical role of The Punisher in the upcoming season of Daredevil : now , it looks like Marvel is ready to spin around off the fibre into a show of his own .
TVLine is reporting that Marvelis very tight to developing a spinoff series of The Punisher to join Daredevil , Jessica Jones , Luke Cage and Iron Fist on Netflix . This is awesome news , considering that the next season of Daredevil does n’t leave out until March 18th : Marvel clearly has a lot of self-assurance in Bernthal ’s portrayal of the fictional character , enough to create an whole Modern series .
If a series goes forward , we ’d be interested in what basis it would hatch : we ’ve already seen an origin story with Thomas Jane ’s Punisher , but as Daredevil showed us , you could show off the origin of the character through flashbacks , rather than that being the focal point of the series .
That said , we really hope that this does n’t entail that Marvel wo n’t do a 2d season of Jessica Jones . That would be a really unfortunate move , given how fantabulous Jessica Jones was as a serial .
