To keep Dren secure , the duo take her to a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere , which bring in up unpleasant childhood retentivity for Elsa . But Dren quickly becomes bored .
Several characters fail , and their deaths are sort of sweep under the rug . And three - quarters of the elbow room through , it turn over into a more traditional monster movie . The style in which Elsa is punish for meddling with nature is very gender - specific . There ’s a “ just plain wrong ” scene that will gross out audience members .
