We here at Gizmodo HQ hump ourselves someHyperMac batteries , but apparently Cupertino does n’t share our enthusiasm . Apple is suing parent company Sanho over six letters patent relating to MagSafe and iPod . And it looks like they may have a case .
The crux of the issue seems to be that HyperMac products use “ original Apple MagSafe connecter , ” according to the company’sown merchandise listing . That ’s a no - no , as outlinedin the legal filing :
“ Defendants manufacturing , circulate , and/or deal Cartesian product that infringe patent related to Apple ’s proprietary MagSafe connexion used to connect power arranger and other products to Apple portable computers , such as the MacBook , ” the suit reads . “ Defendants also manufacture , distribute and/or trade products that infringe patent of invention pertain to Apple ’s 30 - pin connector and receptacle , used to connect cables to Apple iPod , iPhone and/or iPad products . ”

“ Defendants ’ impinge behaviour has damaged Apple and inflicted irreparable impairment for which Apple attempt , among other remedies , an award of its actual legal injury , disgorgement of Defendants ’ profits from the sale of run afoul devices and injunctive relievo . ”
Is this going to root for HyperMac from ledge ? I ’d say it ’s more potential that Sanho deal over kaboodles of money to Apple but stays in line of work . But if this is an expanse where Apple really wants to have an exclusive production , it looks like they may have legal grounds to deplume the chew . [ Apple InsiderviaCrunchGear ]
