More than a decade after she graced the halls ofMode,America Ferrerais ready to revisit the role that helped launch her into television fame.
Speaking toEntertainment TonightatElle’s Women in Hollywood event on Tuesday, Ferrera, 39, said she’d jump at the chance to reunite with herUgly Bettycostars.
“I think there has been like a deep desire there for a long time, because ourUgly Bettyfamily is so close, and so we love each other so much,” theBarbieactress, 39, told the outlet. “I think we’d all come back in a heartbeat. You know, I don’t know! It takes a lot of work to get a thing off the ground. Maybe we’ll figure it out.”
Ferrera emphasized that after all these years, the character of Betty Suarez is one she remains extremely fond of. “Betty is my heart,” she added. “I would be thrilled [to play her again].”

Salma Hayek, who served as an executive producer on the series, recently posted a flashback photo of herself with Ferrera during production ofUgly Bettyas the show continues to pick up steam on streaming services.
“I am so excited that a new generation is discoveringUgly Betty.This series is very close to our hearts at Ventanarosa because we produced 17 years ago,” Hayekwrote in the caption. “It was groundbreaking at its time and has remained relevant throughout all these years. America, I’m so proud of all your accomplishments; we couldn’t have done it without such a great cast.”
