Amazon ’s terms of service grants it fundamentally god - like sureness over its domain , but we all buy in because we conceive that the ship’s company will be kindly with its power . That ’s not always the case . Here ’s the account of a user whose account was deleted and her Kindle wipe with no explanation whatsoever .
Tech blogger Martin Bekkelundreportsthe inauspicious saga of his friend “ Linn . ” Linn claims she received an e-mail from a character named Michael Murphy representing Executive Customer Relations for Amazon.co.uk . Murphy pronounce Linn ’s account had been removed because it was related to another account , which had been deleted for pervert Amazon insurance . The email ended withrecitation of Amazon ’s rights :
Per our Conditions of Use which state in part : Amazon.co.uk and its affiliates appropriate the right to refuse service , finish history , slay or edit content , or scrub orders at their sole prudence .
Linn had no idea what Michael Murphy was talking about and respond asking for more detail . Mr. Murphy ’s take after up was cryptical and hold nothing new .
While we are unable to provide detailed entropy on how we link up related to accounts , please know that we have reexamine your report on the basis of the information provide and regret to inform you that it will not be reopened .
So in other Book , Linn ’s chronicle was irrevocably fail , and there was nothing she could do to find out why . Besides basically block Linn from the Amazon ’s huge retail marketplace forever , Amazon also annul admittance to the many books she had on her Kindle . Remember , just because you ’ve spent hundreds or even thou of dollars on ebooks for your Kindle , you do n’t really own any of them . Thanks Amazon ’s DRM , the company can take your leverage aside whenever it feels like it .
We call and emailed Amazon to find out if the story is true — and how it ’s even potential that an innocent exploiter could get caught up in a bureaucratic incubus like this without recourse . We ’ll update when we hear back . [ Martin Bekkelund ]

Amazon who supply at least a partial reply to our questions :
We posted the follow message to our customer forum :
“ We would care to clear up our policy on this topic . business relationship status should not affect any client ’s power to access their program library . If any client has trouble access their content , he or she should reach client serving for help . Thank you for your stake in Kindle . ”
In other words , Linn , above , should not have had her Kindle wiped by Amazon just because her account was send away . That said , this provides no explanation for why her story might have been terminated , or what she can do to notice out . We ’ve take for elucidation on this head .
