Al Rokerhas taken a big step in grandpa life — a solo overnight with his infant granddaughter.
Sharing scenes from their time together this weekend on Instagram Sunday, the TODAY co-anchor, 69, talked about the “perfect” experience with granddaughterSky Clara.
“24 hours without a shower. Whew,” he candidly added.
Later, Roker shared a shot of a bottle station set up on his kitchen counter, writing, “It’s been a while since I had this setup going on in the kitchen. Good to know I can still do this. Like riding a bike. But, I get to give the bike back to the owners.”

Shortly after Sky was born, Roker spoke withTodayco-hostsSavannah Guthrie,Hoda Kotb,Craig MelvinandSheinelle Jonesabout becoming a grandparent. “It is magical, it really is,” he said.
“The thing is, everyone tells you it’s going to be ‘this thing’ and you don’t know; it’s like when they tell you about having your first child. And then to hold this little girl, knowing almost 35 years ago I held her mom? And here she is, 5 lbs., 15 oz. 19 inches long and she’s just perfect.”
“I’m telling you, she’s a great sleeper,” he added of Sky. “Sleeps for four hours, wakes up, goes to the bathroom, sleeps another four. We’re on the same schedule!”
In addition toCourtney Roker, Roker is also dad toNick Roker, 21, andLeila Roker, 24.
Courtney shared some of the same photos of Sky when announcing her birth on her own Instagram in July, writing, “Sky Clara Laga made her debut yesterday at 12:41 pm and we are absolutely obsessed with her. Thank you to Dr Shonda Corbett and the labor & delivery team at@holynamemedicalcenterwho helped bring her into this world 💕.”
“Sky Clara Laga made her world debut yesterday at 12:41pm. She is absolute perfection. @ouichefroker is a rockstar and is doing amazing as she recovers ❤️,” he wrote.
