The first thing to mention is the gesture - based port : terrifically cagy . It feels like how we should be interacting with a next - propagation gadget . put both ribbon on the bottom panel , and there ’s your keyboard . Five digit in the centre , there ’s your medium interface . Prefer index finger’s breadth scrawl to practical typing ? you could do that , too . Neat ! Also fun : the ability to shorten and paste a web site to a “ journal ” to access it later . Not trusted it ’s more good than a bookmarklet , but it sure looks fancier . And you’re able to see for yourself how smoothly download HD content plays .

Here ’s the not - so - great news : the screens , they are sheeny . So very sheeny . Which would n’t be such a huge issue were the Iconia not being positioned ( or so it seems ) as a subject matter - delivery machine . And while the screen was mostly responsive to refer , there were enough unresponsive moments to give you pause .

Still , it ’s an attending - grab machine , and deservedly so . Now the only interrogation is : who ’s gon na grease one’s palms it ? And , uh … for how much ?
