The Red Turtle , by animator Michaël Dudok de Wit , is Ghibli ’s first carbon monoxide gas - production ; it has no dialog , but is fill with splendidly round-eyed , mitt - draw images .
The story is also wide-eyed , but like all Ghibli movies , it has a certain magic to it , too . The Red Turtle is countersink to make its introduction at the currently underway Cannes Film Festival .
