To celebratePrincess Beatrice‘sroyal engagementtoEdoardo Mapelli Mozzi, we looked at just some of the fun, quirky things we know aboutQueen Elizabeth‘s granddaughter, known to her friends simply as “Bea.”
1. She Hangs Out with Supermodels
WhenKarlie Klosscalled her nearest and dearest toannounce her engagement to Josh Kushner, she had Beatrice on speed dial.
Their friendship goes back years. They were spotted hanging out at the U.S Open in 2016, and the two recently took atrip to Jordan togetherwith a group of friends that also included singer-songwriterEllie Goulding. Just a month before their own engagement news,Beatrice and Edoardo attended Ellie’s weddingto Caspar Jopling!

2. She’s a Thoroughly Modern Royal
Beatrice, 31, might be a member of the royal family, but she’s happy totweetandInstagram— and her résumé is even onLinkedIn. But don’t expect to get a daily fix of royal gossip or filtered pictures of her favorite avocado toast recipe. Most of the posts are to promote her charity work rather than anything personal and her Instagram feed is private – so unless you are one of her 655 followers, her favorite brunch treats will remain a mystery.
3. She Loves Fashion with a Message (Literally!)
Managing to combine her love of charity work, fashion and monogramming, Beatrice’s favorite bag of the summer has been her Pop & Suki box bag.
The bag, which she has in pink and black has the words ‘Be Cool, Be Nice’ written on the front, in reference to an anti-bullying campaign she helped to champion last year. And thevintage-inspired bagis almost affordable at $275.

4. Eight Is Her Lucky Number
Well, if it isn’t, then it should be.
The eldest child ofSarah “Fergie” Fergusonand Prince Andrew was born on the eighth day of the eighth month in 1988 at 8:18 p.m.

5. Her Royal Bond with Her Sister Is Unbreakable
Speaking in their first joint interview forBritishVogue‘s September issue in 2018, the duo admitted they oftenact as “each other’s rocks”when public ridicule gets especially difficult.
“There was a horrible article that had been written about Beatrice and she got really upset. We were just about to step out [at a Buckingham Palace garden party] and she had a bit of a wobble and cried. I was looking after her,” Eugenie explained. “And then about an hour later, I had a wobble and started crying and Bea was there for me.”
Princess Eugenie, 29, also had a sweet role in her sibling’s engagement: shesnapped romantic photos of the couplereleased along with the news of their upcoming wedding!
“Princess Eugenietook the colour photographs as my girls are so close,” Fergiewrote on Instagram. “Beatrice and Edo wanted her to capture this special moment.”

6. Beatrice and Edoardo Have Known Each Other for Years
Despite rumors that they were introduced recently, they have known each other for years — and, friends say, they certainly didn’t need to go through a formal introduction to each other’s parents.
Edoardo is the stepson of Christopher Shale, who made headlines when he died at the Glastonbury rock festival in 2011. Shale, who was close to the then-Prime Minister David Cameron, was an old friend of Beatrice’s parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. Beatrice would have known his stepson for many years — and joined her parents at Shale’s funeral eight years ago.
