Every year Cedar Point in my hometown of Sandusky , OH has been shooting off fireworks for the 4th of July . you’re able to get great purview of them without even being at the parking lot . I base a dainty point across the Sandusky Bay , but was n’t sure exactly what type of shot I wanted . fortunately I was able-bodied to get the H2O , the park , and a great explosion all in one . I debated on become in the Black & White Version , but thought the color was more festive . The expert clobber : canyon EOS Rebel T3 , 75 – 300 mm lens , ISO 100 , f/4 , 2.0s .

Driveway Works

This was the 2d year of our traditional “ shoot fireworks in our private road ” celebration of July 4th . Here in the Bay Area , you’re able to only fritter “ secure and sane ” fireworks . Plenty of neighbor were launching the illegal pyrotechnic and M-80s , bring forth prissy , echoing thunder . This particular pyrotechnic was launching everything at once , giving us our own version of San Diego ’s all - or - nothing firework show . I liked the assortment of lines and colors , and that a lot of it was capture in this shot . shoot with a Canon 7D and a 50 mm f/1.4 at f/14 , ISO 200 , and 2 2nd exposure .

Chimney Sweep

I had no intentions to see the firework along the Hudson on the 4th since I did n’t feel like waiting hr without access to a toilet . As I was scroll through Facebook , my room all of a sudden fall up and I heard a loud bang coming from outside my window . I realized the block behind mine were setting off immense fireworks and rush to grab my photographic camera . I looked through my shooter and observe it interesting that the firework looked as if they came out of the lamp chimney of a menage behind mine .

Nikon D7000 , 28 millimeter at f/7.1 , 13 second exposure , ISO 100 .

Oooh! Ahhhh!

The day was spend deliberate whether the feat would be worth it to fight the crowd and force back from Beaverton ( Portland , OR ) into Vancouver ( Vancouver , WA , for the Fort Vancouver firework show ) to see the big show . I have n’t been in old age , but with my girlfriend having never been , we resolve it would be a great mode to spend the evening . We got there with a few hours to spare and enjoyed some solid food and music with a good daub on the grass near the bountiful oak tree . give birth the pyrotechnic on Din Land this year ( alternatively of the barge on the river ) , I decided the oak Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree would help frame the fireworks nicely , and the fragile hill would be perfect to see the silhouette of the crew . After the pyrotechnic started , I sample several different options to wager around with the amount of pyrotechnic visible in a give injection . After some edits , I ended up with half a XII shots that were quite overnice . canyon 5D Mark II , 24 - 105 mm , 8 seconds , f/10 , ISO-1250 , taken at 24 mm , Android Tablet ( Toshiba Thrive ) tethered using DSLR Controller via miniskirt - USB

Photo is a complex of several guesswork I take at the Stillwater Oklahoma fireworks show ( at the fittingly named “ baby boomer ” lake ) . I put on my red white and blue , pluck up some super sized fast solid food on the way , sat in my Oklahoma State bag hot seat in the widow’s weeds at the edge of the lake to capture this series of picture , then sit down in traffic incessantly trying to get home . If that ’s not ‘ MERICA then i do n’t know what is ! Someone’s Driveway

I almost snuck in to a Private Golf Club ’s fireworks show but got break at the last moment so I did n’t have too much sentence to scout out a young emplacement . I just fructify up in someone ’s drive on a nearby street and went to town . I used the distant shutter button for my Nikon 5100 and pretty much left my preferences in tact throughout the whole show , short of the shutter timings . Went to DC to get a good spot near the Washington Monument on the National Mall , but got there too late and our course to that region was closed off . fortunately this domain around the MLK Monument was quite empty except for a few National Park Service and Press photographers . WINNER: Pyromaniac

To put it but , my buddy - in - law ’s dog , Lucy loves fireworks . Every dog I ’ve ever known is terrified of pyrotechnic , but not Lucy . She seem ( quite literally ) to be fascinated by them .
